My sister Joan and I learned to drive in this 1937 Ford (AKA 'The Heap') our parents bought for this purpose. With care managing engine speed, it was possible to upshift without using the clutch. Were it not for my quick braking action, Joan would have driven through the garage wall as I was giving driving lesson.

![I designed and built this Audio Control Box ['Device'] to support bedtime listening. Coupled with a timer (then an electromechanical time clock) it was used to determine the sound level [hi/lo] and whether the radio would come on in the morning. One switch controlled a bed side lamp.
